About Me

I live down on the marshes of Neston and Parkgate, where Nelson met Lady Hamilton and the ghost of Mary calls her cattle home across the Sands of Dee. It’s also quite close to Chester and Liverpool. I was born in 1963, which makes me  extremely old in the eyes of my four young children and the pupils who are lucky enough to be taught by me. I am a specialist teacher (Autism) in Cheshire. I've always written but recently I've taken the chance to develop my skills. I have worked with Cornerstones Literary Agency who have proved an invaluable source of support, inspiration and contacts. I am also a member of the Society of Children's Bookwriters and Illustrators, another brilliant group.

I play in ceilidh bands, run marathons, walk my two Jack Russells called Pip and Titch, irritate my wife and then go and hide in a dimly lit room to write. I also like collecting teaching certificates and have three so far. Mortlock is my first completed novel and is 'doing the rounds' of agents and publishers. I have two other projects complete  but in need of 'polishing' (Wasps and Cosmic Monkeys).
